A TEAM of brave fishermen manage to catch enourmous sharks while their feet are firmly planted on dry land. The brand new Barcroft Original Documentary, ‘Landing Sharks’, follows the men of team True Blue attempting to break world records by reeling the giant sea beasts from the shore. Longtime shark fisherman Earnie Polk, 43, his cousins Joey Polk, 29, Kenny Peterson, 21 and William Smith, age, often spend up to seven days a week trying to catch gigantic tiger and mako sharks from the shores of Florida, USA. Their most recent adventure was a two day excursion to a secret location where they attempted to break some of their own world records. Earnie is a third generation land shark fisherman and his family have practiced the tradition for more than 100 years. True Blue’s members hold world records for their catches - including the land base world record Mako Shark that weighed more than 800lbs. To catch sharks from land the team wedge their fishing poles in the sand and two of the guys bait the ends with stingray or other fish. They then take a boat out to sea and drop the line out far enough to lure in sharks. Once the shark takes the bait the guys have to wrestle them in and land them on the beach.
