Migraine refers to the type of headache that targets the half side of the head. The nature of pain may vary from patient to patient. The pain of migraine could be severe enough to hinder the daily routine of the individual and may get triggered due to various causes such as bright light, strong smells, stress, etc. In modern medicine, painkillers and sedatives are the choice of treatment. While in ayurveda, the main emphasis is to remove the disease from its roots which requires restricting the nidan (causative factors) and administering ayurvedic formulations to rebalance the tridosha (vata, pitta, kapha) of the body.
