On the 26th July 1939, an Avril Anson aircraft was flying from Belfast to the former RAF Abbotsinch Airfield (currently Glasgow airport) when it encountered bad weather and poor visibility. The aircraft crashed into Dunrod Hill near Greenock. One crew member subsequently died later as a result of his injuries. This engine was erected as a memorial to the crash. The 2nd engine from the aircraft can also be found within a stream further up on the hillside.

At the time of filming, we also caught some footage of paragliders coming down off Dunrod Hill.

Music: Badlands by ELPHNT

#RealUrbex
