Bookmarked 322 weeks ago for full review on rainbow river and more check out our thoughts amptrips blog: https:bestkayakaccessoriescomblogltbrgtfilmed with: https:amznto38hq0cyltbrgtltbrgttoday we are kayaking the rainbow river in dunnellon flltbrgtltbrgtwe launched from kp hole there is a little bit of a carry down a wooden boardwalk to get to the launch and there is a 5 fee to launch your own kayak you can see it has a nice loading arealtbrgtltbrgtwe went upstream towards the spring head most of river looks similar to this there are houses along one side of the river and there aren039t many banks to stop alongltbrgtltbrgtthis side paddle for indian creek gissy spring run which is only a short way upstream from kp hole is probably my favorite part of the paddle it is so natural and clear at the top of the run is a fence that goes into private property there is a cutout that a kayaker could go through but i039m not sure all the legalities of the waterways there so i stopped at the fence and turned back around |

Bookmarked 327 weeks ago today we launched below the overpass for us-301 and the little manatee river i paddled about 2 miles upstream to the railroad bridge and turned back to the launchltbrgtltbrgtfull review: https:bestkayakaccessoriescomkayaking-little-manatee-river-wimauma-flltbrgtfilmed with gopro hero 7 black: https:bestkayakaccessoriescomgogopro-hero7-blackltbrgtltbrgtthe river was flowing at a decent rate but the paddle against the current wasn039t too hard the most difficult part was actually dodging all the trees and branches that were fallen or overgrown this was actually easier here going upstream since the kayak was moving a lot slowerltbrgtltbrgti was surprised there wasn039t more wildlife in this section of the riverltbrgtltbrgtthe coolest part of this section of the river was this railroad bridge and it039s about 2 miles upstream from our launch this bridge was part of the seaboard air line and was abandoned in the mid-80s a lot of the ties were missing and it was getting overcast in the distance |

Bookmarked 604 weeks ago for licensingusage please contact: licensingjukinmediacomwhile kayaking in monterey bay and watching a huge raft of sea lions that had come up right in front of us a bus-sized humpback whale suddenly rose up out of the water only 10 feet from my boat he was making a b-line toward me humpbacks are graceful and fully aware of their size and of their surroundings so i wasn039t scared at first but i was certainly shocked that he chose to swim right up to me he dove under my kayak which was amazing and exhilarating but then his back arched and came to the surface about 3 inches from my boat which freaked me out a bit i wondered: hmmm maybe this one needs contact lenses then his enormous barnacle-encrusted tail came out of the water and was about 12 inches from my face which pretty much made my eyes pop out of my head so pardon my swearing in the video - i was rather stunned about a minute later another whale came up and dove down right next to my friends039 kayaks it was truly unbelievable note: we were not kayaking toward the whales and it is not advisable - nor is it legal - to do so it039s important to respect whales and just let them be i think we must have been kayaking atop a huge ball of anchovies since the whales came toward us either that or we have serious whale magnetism :- |
