Bookmarked 528 weeks ago 039just the glass039 repairs are tempting because they usually cost less than 10 dollars which is just the price of the piece of glass and loca gluenormally when a repair technician attempts a 039glass only039 screen repair on an iphone 4 5 or 6 they have to use super expensive equipment or get a heat gun and try not to burn their fingers while they remove the glass on 200 degree iphone part luckily you can work with dry ice at the opposite end of the temperature spectrum with the same if not better results dry ice can remove the glass on your iphone faster and safer than extreme heathere is the iphone 6 glass only video at 8:20: https:youtubez9drzo9ho_ut=8m20shere is the iphone 5 5s and 5c glass only video at 4:00: https:youtubel_kcy05jr10t=4mcheck your sanity levels before attempting this repair the current price of full iphone 5 screens: http:wwwrepairsuniversecomiphone-5-lcd-touch-screen-assembly-replacement-whitehtmlutm_source=jerryrigeverythingamputm_medium=white20iphone20520screenamputm_campaign=jerryrigeverythingthe current price of full iphone 6 screens: http:wwwrepairsuniversecomiphone-6-lcd-touch-screen-digitizer-assembly-replacement-blackhtmlutm_source=jerryrigeverythingamputm_medium=iphone20620lcdamputm_campaign=jerryrigeverythingfollow me for updatesinstagram: http:instagramcomzacksjerryrigfacebook: https:wwwfacebookcomjerryrigeverythingtwitter: https:twittercomzacksjerryriggoogleplus: https:plusgooglecomu0jerryrigeverythingpostsjerryrigeverything assumes no liability for property damage or injury incurred as a result of any of the information contained in this video jerryrigeverything recommends safe practices when working with power tools automotive lifts lifting tools jack stands electrical equipment blunt instruments chemicals lubricants expensive electronics or any other tools or equipment seen or implied in this video due to factors beyond the control of jerryrigeverything no information contained in this video shall create any express or implied warranty or guarantee of any particular result any injury damage or loss that may result from improper use of these tools equipment or the information contained in this video is the sole responsibility of the user and not jerryrigeverything only attempt your own repairs if you can accept personal responsibility for the results whether they are good or bad |

how to reveal subatomic particles at home nova
Bookmarked 574 weeks ago here039s a way you can reveal subatomic particles that are shooting in front of your eyes all the timecredits:produced animated and edited bygreg kestina special thanks to:anna rothschildlauren aguirreari danieldemonstration and lighting technician:allen crockettoriginal footage wgbh educational foundation 2015media credits:pond5videoblocksmicroscopy apm music musicfreesoundorg sfxwhere to buy dry ice:us dry ice distributor directory: http:wwwdryicedirectorycomusahtmoutside us: http:wwwdryicedirectorycomworldhtmsome grocery stores also carry dry iceexperiment instructions:materials: jar amp lid sponge 91 rubbing alcohol or greater purity not 70 permanent black marker flashlight and dry ice step 1: stuff the sponge in the bottom of the jar so it doesnt fall down when the jar is turned upside-down step 2: pour a bit of alcohol on the sponge but not too much that it will drip or fall when turned upside-down step 3: color as much of the inside of the lid black as you can this is so there is contrast with the droplets which will appear white as they reflect the flashlights light thin black paper attached to the lid may also work but it must be thin enough so the cold lid still cools down the bottom of the jar step 4: put the lid on the jar step 5: put on well-insulated gloves and pour out a pile of dry ice step 6: place the jar upside-down on the dry ice you may want to surround the edge of the lid with dry ice so it cools down faster step 7: shine your flashlight over the lid try various angles to get best visibility of droplets step 8: turn off all other lights step 9: look for lines of droplets you should be able to see droplets in the vapor falling down to the lid like snow but a few times a minute or more frequently you will see a line of droplets appear and fall down to the lid when you see a line it was from a subatomic particle shooting through your jarscientific notes: the setup here is a simple version of a cloud chamber: http:youtubeako0ry6klty subatomic particles include both elementary particles such as electrons and muons as well as nuclei such as protons or alpha particles quotthe smallest and most fundamental building blocks of matterquot refers to the former the pieces of atoms from exploded stars include predominantly protons alpha particles and some heavier nuclei the showers of subatomic particles are called air showers while the subatomic particles that eventually reach the earth are mostly muons electrons positrons and photons higher up in the shower protons neutrons pions and kaons are also present cosmic rays are the high energy particles that bombard the earths atmosphere creating air showers when a charged particle passes through the alcohol vapor some of it is ionized becomes electrically charged and the neighboring vapor is attracted to the ions forming visible droplets this is the disturbance that muons or electrons create as they pass through the vapor |

homemade wood-fired pizza oven cost nothing at all to build and feeds small multitude
Bookmarked 554 weeks ago an oil drum barrel and a bit of metal pipe is all you need to make a really simple but effective pizza oven it may not look very fancy but it works well and it will cook a whole lot of pizza also instead of waiting for daysweeks for your clay oven to dry enough to use an earth oven can be made and used on the same day which is really handy if you have a few people coming roundplease like and share if you enjoyed this video : - a few notes on our oven first up thanks a million to maggie bill and michael who arrived from the us just in time to help build this oven they also did most of the filming for this - and michael made some excellent pizza dough too thanks guys you were greatthe soilearthstones are vital to keep the heat in but you could use sand clay or bricks too dont use bark mulch or anything similar as it will catch fire for sure on our oven the soil ended up being around 8 thick at the top which was good but more than was really needed we would have built the whole thing into a bank which would have saved a lot of work but there wasnt one handy i would suggest you aim for 6 minimumthe chimney pipe isnt essential the fire would burn anyway but it makes controlling the fire easier you need a hot oven which means a fast burning fire take it down or block it off when the fire is out to retain the heatfuel small section dry branches are best for a fast hot fire you dont want a smouldering cool fire so perhaps your very first job is to prep your fuel and leave it to dry somewhere we cut ours to length and left it in the greenhouse for a week only thin flat foods can be cooked at such high temperatures hence pizzas and flans as the oven cools you can try thicker breads and cakes and you could cook a casserole over night too on the day we made this video we were cooking for over an hour and the oven could have cooked for quite a while longerthe sandblocks inside and the soil outside were all damp so some heat was needed to dry them out before they could really heat up drying them first would have helped but obviously wasnt essential if we keep this oven covered then it will always be ready to jump into culinary actionyou dont need a wooden door you could just use the drum lid but timber is an insulator so it should keep more heat in also the weight of the soil squashed the barrel a bit so the lid didnt fit properly draughts are the worst try to keep it closed up really tight you could use bricks for a door too our wooded one was scorched black but a splash of water stopped it combustingif youre interested in the rounders game you might like to see last years matchhttps:wwwyoutubecomwatchv=8m_sjjvsk3y |
