we present flexsense a new thin-film transparent sensing surface based on printed piezoelectric sensors which can reconstruct complex deformations without the need for any external sensing such as cameras flexsense provides a fully self-contained setup which improves mobility and is not affected from occlusions using only a sparse set of sensors printed on the periphery of the surface substrate we devise two new algorithms to fully reconstruct the complex deformations of the sheet using only these sparse sensor measurements an evaluation shows that both proposed algorithms are capable of reconstructing complex deformations accurately we demonstrate how flexsense can be used for a variety of 25d interactions including as a transparent cover for tablets where bending can be performed alongside touch to enable magic lens style effects layered input and mode switching as well as the ability to use our device as a high degree-of-freedom input controller for gaming and beyondhttp:researchmicrosoftcom

by yizhong zhang chunji yin changxi zheng and kun zhoutechnical paper at acm siggraph 2015abstract:hydrographic printing is a well-known technique in industry for transferring color inks on a thin film to the surface of a manufactured 3d object it enables high-quality coloring of object surfaces and works with a wide range of materials but suffers from the inability to accurately register color texture to complex surface geometries thus it is hardly usable by ordinary users with customized shapes and textureswe present computational hydrographic printing a new method that inherits the versatility of traditional hydrographic printing while also enabling precise alignment of surface textures to possibly complex 3d surfaces in particular we propose the first computational model for simulating hydrographic printing pro- cess this simulation enables us to compute a color image to feed into our hydrographic system for precise texture registration we then build a physical hydrographic system upon off-the-shelf hardware integrating virtual simulation object calibration and controlled immersion to overcome the difficulty of handling complex surfaces we further extend our method to enable multiple immersions each with a different object orientation so the combined colors of individual immersions form a desired texture on the object surface we validate the accuracy of our computational model through physical experiments and demonstrate the efficacy and robustness of our system using a variety of objects with complex surface textures

due to overwhelming and much loved support i039ve decided to open up a twitter account this way we can talk and chat via outlets outside of youtubehttp:twittercomthemanbatman11edit - thanks to you awesome viewers:17 - most discussed april 25 - film ampamp animation159 - most viewed april 25 - film ampamp animation - united kingdom194 - most viewed april 25 - film ampamp animation - australia12 - top favorited april 25 - film ampamp animation26 - top rated april 25 - film ampamp animationjust wanted to thank everyone once again for all the awesome comments and support i received for the teaser trailer posted back in february i039m thrilled that the concept was able to resonate with so many as that039s what it039s really all about sharing in the idea with fellow fansand so as promised this is the follow up to the teaser here we have a full length well a bit longer than the norm but hey what can you dohahaha theatrical trailer that delves a little deeper into the story behind the batman complex as explained in the teaser the gist of the idea revolves around a few fun topics mainly the whole quotwhat is realquot train of thought and also every fans desire deep down or upfront to be batman at least once in their lives lol and so i tried to craft a story where we see what happens when someone takes their dream of being batman a little bit too far an idea after all is a truly resilient parasite while some of it is still left a bit ambiguous both unintentionally and intentionally - while there039s only so much that can be strung together i often like to leave a little bit open so as to see what fellow fans are able to imaginecreate i believe it offers a bit more than the teaser as you might be able to tell the theatrical trailer takes on less of a quothorrorquot vibe than the teaser for this extended look i wanted to focus more on the character aspects and a bit of the tragedy as well and attempt to move past the initial shock of the psychological twist one aspect i tried to hint at was the paralleling descent of both bruce and cobb as cobb and the team go deeper into bruce039s mind they start to encounter the truly dark issues that his subconscious houses as a result cobb himself gets caught up in the obsession of all that lingers in the mind of a batman there are a couple fun things in there that are best left to surprise but all in all i039m relatively happy with how it turned out it039s fairly fast paced and doesn039t leave much room to breath which helps amplify the tension i think but that039s just me i hope it works just as well as the teaser did as for the future of the project i039m not sure what039s next i don039t think i039ll do a second theatrical trailer maybe a couple of tv spots but other than that i think i039ll let this one remain as it is we039ll see perhaps i039ll be further inspired by some other ideas that039ll come to me in a dream as always enjoy :this video is made purely for fun no copyright infringement intended all footage belongs to warner bros pictures dc comics filmax entertainment dimension films touchstone pictures paramount pictures and the cw
