Bookmarked 559 weeks ago what is it with people hating on caitlyn jenner here039s how i responded to one post on facebook that really wound me up damn dirty trollsi am so fed up with people posting hate on facebook that i have taken it upon myself to fight it the facebook vigilante i am the voice of reason and here was my response:quoti am not making any comment on your mother before i write this comment let that be known i just wish to defend caitlyn jenner from this transphobic message which ultimately aims to invalidate caitlyn jenner039s gender identity i do not believe ms jenner has ever stated she has suffered for being a woman or experienced scrutiny for her female identity she has however been scrutinized and abused for transitioning to this female identity in a society which is still dominated by the patriarchy ergo it is lesser to be a woman than a man therefore ms jenner is less worthy or respect liberty and equality if you accept the misogynistic hegemony although caitlyn039s experience reflects opinions on gender conformity abuse which is aimed at the trans community is a direct result of stereotypical expectations of the feminine as inferior to the masculine it could then be defined as an extension of canonical cisgender female discrimination comments on her clothing and appearance really invalidate any feminist intentions as it is not the role of society to define limitations of what a woman is expected to or can do if she would like to wear an expensive dress and she can afford it the necessary evil which is capitalism allows this and a true feminist would support a woman039s decision to wear such an outfit there are also allusions to ms jenner not expressing her quotraw authentic selfquot and i would counter argue that for someone under such scrutiny whilst transitioning in the public eye has done nothing but expose her authentic self as for the quotrawquot i would question what this person believes the role of the media excluding journalism is and if it is anything other than a promotional machine with the intention of generating profit end of rantquotif you are experiencing hate of any kind that you just can039t tolerate you have two options report it or fight it i am choosing to fight the hate and spread love and pride to all if you experiencing bullying make sure you inform the network you are using and your friends and family |
