Bookmarked 692 weeks ago hello lovelies allow me to introduce myself: i am nancy li the founder of charity4couture this charity is to not only sell chic affordable clothing but also give back to the community see i grew up always volunteering around my community and giving back has always been my way of lifeit all started when i was in the third grade and my mom took me to a thrift store i immediately loved everything there from the funky jewelry to the unique piecesi knew no one had this stuff ever since i039ve found timeless pieces at the thrift store you would normally find at a regular store for 10x the price so i thought i could find really cute clothes stylemodify them and sell them i mean why can039t everyone afford cute stuff while contributing to a great causethe reason i started this whole charity was to really give to those who need it the most what happens is people donate their clothes and i will pick pieces out change them up like studding them cutting sewing etc and those will be sold the remaining of the clothes will be donated this money raised will go towards stjude039s research hospital and the hirshberg foundation for pancreatic cancer researchand you may ask why i picked these two foundations every year the let it be foundation holds an event called the dance of hope this event is held in order to make money for children with cancer and their families by having groups of dance teams perform for them dancing for these kids really called attention to the importance of finding cures for cancer especially in children 3 out of 10 children will lose their battle with cancer every year and that039s definitely an alarming number supporting the research of cancer will hopefully lower that numberanother charity i chose to donate to is the hirshberg foundation for pancreatic cancer research a friend of mine lost the guy that basically raised him and i saw the impact that pancreatic cancer has over families annually an estimated 44030 americans will be diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and over 37660 will die from the disease also pancreatic cancer has the highest mortality rate of all major cancers: with 94 of patients dying within five years of diagnosis and only 6 survive more than five years if we can contribute to the cure or at least fund research then one of these days pancreatic cancers won039t be so fatalall in all you guys will be able to get rid of your old clothes buy refurbished unique clothing and support the betterment of our communities all over the country if you have any questions email me at charity4couturegmailcomspread the world give back lovewebsite: http:charity4couturecomfacebook: http:wwwfacebookcomcharity4couturetumblr: http:charity4couturetumblrcomtwitter: http:twittercomcharity4couture |
