Bookmarked 745 weeks ago russian producer pavel kuzmenko aka paul key makes his debut on greece039s deepsessions recordings this week http:wwwbeatportcomrelease30-seconds-before-the-dawn818399paul is a fresh new name on the scene this year and with appearances on mistiquemusic and now deepsessions it appears paul039s production career is moving in a great direction paul039s first offering for deepsessions is entitled 03930 seconds before the dawn039 and comes with a great selection of mixes from deepsessions regulars : t-dallas stanisha and franzis-d paul039s original begins with an authoritative kick a big clap and some nice foreboding atmosphere a mean sounding synth fades in the mix and has an amazing rumbling quality too really electric and alive sounding the atmosphere and general tension of the piece is really impactful as it builds towards the breakdown here an ominous vocal pad comes sweeping across the mix it039s a spine tingling moment that039s accented by a wicked section of break beats that carries the track near it039s conclusion before the straight kick drops back to close things out certainly one of our favorite originals on deepsessions this year awesome stuff from paul keygreek producer and deepsessions resident t-dallas provides the first remix in his always exceptionally cool and refreshing progressive style intricate drum work and a big set of bongos draw you attention at the outset before a thunderous bass line drops a selection of airy synths soon fades over top of mix for a lovely angelic type feel it quite a trancey element but over the tough dark groove it works amazingly well the key changes in the bass line are also really nice and add the heavenly emo vibe of the record perfectly another outstanding production form t-dallasone of the most unique and inspiring producers this year has been stanisha his fresh sound design and borderless genre style is exactly what very few producers are able to achieve but he continues to impress even at a prolific production pace he done that in spades here on his 03930 seconds before the dawn039 remix a punchy groove that039s accented by amazing drums and super unique chord changes in the lead synth set the pace early on and as the piece builds you get to here more of stanisha039s interesting sound design as little intricate parts are added in towards the breakdown which is actually quite late in the record which is a nice change here the ominous vocal pads come to life with sweeping energy and the bubbly analogue styled synth modulates wonderful underneath for a great musical interlude before a driving finish great stuff again from stanishaspanish producer franzis-d closes the package out with a great compliment as he039s gone with a very warped sounding tech house interpretation it039s a really unique and challenging sound that franzis has come up with here it039s funky and great for the dance floor the beats and beat patterns are quite inventive and should get the full attention of even the most critical dancefloors it039s a relatively stripped down vibe that franzis has constructed but the overall groove is absolutely killer with all the parts working perfectly together for a great sense of swing and the chord changes on the wobbly bassline give it a greater sense of momentum great remix from franzis and one of our favourites from him this year monster package from deepsessions and paul key is certainly a producer to keep an eye on in the future |
