pop culture: why music works

music may be the finest therapy humanity has ever invented if you like our films take a look at our shop we ship worldwide: http:bitly2czlauv further readingone of the most calming things that societies have ever devised is the lullaby in almost every culture there has ever been mothers have rocked and sung their babies to sleepa humbling point that a lullaby reveals is that its not necessarily the words of a song that make us feel more tranquil the baby doesnt understand whats being said but the sound has its effect all the same the baby is showing us that we are all tonal creatures long before we are creatures of understanding as adults we grasp the significance of words of course but there remains a sensory level which cuts through and affects far more than an argument or an idea ever could the musician can at points trump anything the philosopher might tell usyou can read more on this and other topics on our blog thebookoflifeorg at this link: http:bitly

ninja gator alligator climbs fence

this video was shot in the parking lot of an everglades tour company in miami florida where i worked for a year driving air-boats this is one of the 13 million estimated alligators roaming free in the south florida everglades i captured this event on my iphone only minutes after i had just pulled into the parking lot for work at 8am gators are truly amazing creatures and you039ll never know all their secrets unless you actually spend time in the everglades and observe them up close like i did it039s amazing to think that some scientists don039t even know that alligators can do this the gator in this video was in a public parking lot so part of my job was to herd them away so they don039t get hurt by the lot traffic or so they don039t accidentally bite anyone trust me the tourists that come here are pretty stupid and are usually the instigators of alligator bites i love alligators and would do anything to help any of these magnificent creatures if in peril with youtube videos it039s easy to get the wrong idea i was not harassing this gator i was helping
