Bookmarked 596 weeks ago how to make hobby rocket sugar motors using sugar and kitty litter that shoot up over 2300 feet high and cost less than 050 to makejoin my email list http:bitlytkoremaillistfor other project videos check out http:wwwthekingofrandomcommusic by scott ampamp brendo reverie - instrumental http:bitlyscottbrendoitunesendcard links:green slime: http:bitlyninjaturtleoozemagic mud: http:bitlymagicmudfancy napkins: http:bitlyfancynapkinsglycerin soap: http:bitlyfightclubsoapproject inspired by: 4 years of testing and experimenting with sugar rockets and recently a lot of influence from the book easy pvc rockets by jason smiley http:bitlyibeasypvcrockets if you check out the link please share the love and let jason know that grant thompson sent you : thank youmy friend nighthawkinlight also has an awesome video on a different method of making a cored rocket with black powder you can see that here: http:bitlyibbpcoredrocketswarning: rockets are not toys and this project really should not be duplicated this video is mainly for educational and demonstrational purposes if youre going to attempt it anyway i highly suggest contacting local rocket clubs to become familiar with local laws and how to stay out of trouble with the faa and avoid hurting any people or property playing with unstable rocket motors could result in serious injury property damage andor legal ramifications use of this video content is at your own riskyou should be aware that misuse or careless use of rocket propellants or ignition of an incendiary or explosive material may not be legal in your area check local laws and inquire with local rocketry clubs on how to safely make and launch sugar rocketsbackground:after making my video on homemade rocket fuel http:bitlydiyrocketfuel i had a lot of requests on how i built the one that launched at the end of the video although that rocket motor worked very well i wanted to get the process down to a science before making a video about itthis project video shows a slightly different approach to the sugar motor using the same ingredients and a demonstration of how the rocket motor performs the main difference is that this is rammed powder as opposed to caramelizing the sugar mixsugar rockets are the slowest burning of all rocket fuels and it039s highly unlikely that pvc will explode when using kitty litter plugs and sugar for the propellent in all my destructive testing and controlled attempts to get one to fail catastrophically the pvc was never damaged all that would happen is that the plugs would blast outsaying that i wouldn039t use pvc with black power rockets that is a different story altogetherthese motor blasted up over 2300 feet high without any payload which has been very consistent with all the motors i made for the project videosome people wonder how i was able to measure it at 2300 feet high it039s a rough guess based on my raw video footage i was able to detect the apogee of the rocket by a timed delay mix showing the arch then measuring the time from apogee to impact it was just about 12 seconds exactly and i entered that into a gravity calculator for falling objects http:wwwgravitycalccom and got a result of 706 meters which is 2316 ftalthough the project video shows step-by-step how to build the motors i would caution anyone wanting to make one to take precautions these are not toys they can light things on fire and fall down on peoples heads which i imagine could cause serious injuryyou may need permits or only be able to launch these on special experimental launch days with local rocketry clubsmy launch was out in the middle of the dessert miles and miles away from any people property and anything flammable safety precautions were in place in case anything went wronghaving said that im very proud of how these little motors perform and amazed at how cheaply they can be made |

unm students being attacked at an israel alliance event on campus
Bookmarked 735 weeks ago unm students assualted at public event on campuson february 23rd during a public lecture by nonie darwish members of the audience assaulted a number of unm students the public lecture which began at 7pm in the anthropology lecture hall was attend by some unm students who exercised their right to freedom of speech by vocally protesting the against the opinions put forward by darwish when the students raised their voices a number of audience members proceeded to get out of their seats and use force against the students one of the students was hit in the face another had her hair pulled and many were pushed and shoved one of the students caught much of these events on film before another audience member forcibly pushed down her camera the students were then forced out of the auditorium and quickly called the unm police who arrived and filed a reportthese students were assaulted on unm campus for simply trying to make their voices heard and it is a shock that a non-violent action was met with such aggressionstatement from unoccupy albuquerque: three people including unm students were attacked by pro-israeli members on wednesday night for mic-checking nonie darwish a self-proclaimed human rights activist who was on unm campus to deliver a talk on the arab springsdarwish cast the arab spring in a bad light she argued that democratic revolutions in the middle east and north africa such as those in egypt and tunisia would not succeed as long as islamists controlled them a group of people who were acting in solidarity with the palestinian people questioned darwish039s fear-mongering and her unqualified support for israel they were shouted down by pro-israel members in the audience who assaulted a woman pulled her hair and forcibly pushed another person over a row of seats a third person was punched in the face pro-israel members also destroyed a phone that was used to record the assault the protestors some of whom are unm students and affiliated with the unoccupy albuquerque movement used quotmic-checkingquot as a nonviolent tactic to voice their concern against the islamophobic content of darwish039s talk however they were met with outright violence by members of the audience who did not want to hear what the protestors had to say rather than simply wait for the protestors to deliver their message and leave as has been the case at similar actions in other parts of the country the pro-israel audience members physically forced the protestors out of the auditorium it is interesting that the audience members who assaulted the protestors were acting in support of israel which claims to be the quotmost-democratic statequot in the middle east freedom of speech is an important part of being democratic and it is a tragedy that the pro-israel members did not want to hear what the protestors had to say protester angle video of attack on unm students: http:wwwyoutubecomwatchv=1f6ccmknixi |
